Another liger cub at Woody's Menagerie was named as Charlie the Liger. However; until now as of 2014, there is no further information about Charlie the liger from Woody's Menagerie. The 2 male ligers at Woody’s Menagerie are brothers and they are believed to be at least 3 years old. Both of these ligers weigh nearly 800 pounds and they look massive and huge from the first sight you spot them at Woody’ Menagerie. Moreover; both of these liger brothers were brought to the zoo when they were a small cub, that’s why they are very attached with the animal trainers at the zoo as well. Woody’s Menagerie is one of the famous and favorite destinations at Illinois. Many people know about this zoo because this zoo is in operation for more than 2 decades. Gregg Woody and Karen Woody (Husband and Wife) are the two key figures at Woody’s Menagerie who has an experience of more than 30 years with wild animals including tigers, lions, ligers, bears, Leopards and pumas etc. The zoo is also famous for arranging unique shows for the animals and making them always very interesting.

All the ligers at Woody’s Menagerie look well-fed. The enclosures of the ligers are very spacious and it is fully equipped with all the basic needs. Animal caretakers and animal trainers treat the ligers in the best way at the zoo. Most importantly all the enclosures are always kept clean on regular basis. They are all given the best food too, so that they remain healthy and strong, while a fresh supply of water is always available for them. The liger enclosures are very flexible and they can easily be managed during the severe winter or severe summer weathers as well. Ligers are even switched in between different enclosures as well and they are moved to different places as well. Even some of the enclosures, especially for transferring animals on trailers are air-conditioned which offer maximum comfort to the animals. There is always the availability of the veterinary staff at the zoo to treat any animal that may get ill.

This Liger Zoo arranges a lot of events locally and at other US states as well. Ligers are introduced within their each and every event. Gregg Woody is of the opinion that the presence of ligers in any event makes that event very special indeed. Core events where Woody’s Menagerie’s ligers participate include Boone County Fair and Kenai Peninsula State Fair. However; at international level there has been a pure lack of effort from Woody’s Menagerie Zoo especially for ligers. Similarly there is a lack of media buzz about Woody’s Menagerie on Social Media and on News Channels as well. They still need to brand their animals to have them introduced at international level.

Overall this place offers a very worthy visit for the visitors to have a live experience with wild animals especially big cats such as ligers, tigers, lions and Jaguars etc. This liger zoo also arranges couple of races for the cattle and antelopes, which is very famous among visitors across Illinois. However; we still think that the popularity and advertisement of the Zoo is not up to mark.
