Florida has a lot of animal sanctuaries and zoos but this zoo is special because it allows visitors to watch and experience ligers and many other exotic big cats. Big Cat Habitat & Gulf Coast Sanctuary started its operations during 1987 and today it is one of the hottest Visitors Spot at the state of Florida for animal lovers. Kay Rosaire is the founding member of Big Cat Habitat and she has dedicated her life with animals for at least 30 years. Her mission is to rescue as much animals at its animal sanctuary and making her place to be an ideal shelter home for the animals. She has successfully done it so far, and we hope that she will continue to do so.

Both male and female ligers are kept in separate enclosures at Big Cat Habitat and Gulf Coast Sanctuary. Brutus the liger enjoys a relatively massive enclosure as compared to Mia the liger. His enclosure has a swimming pool, muddy flooring along with 12 to 15 feet high grill walls. Mia the liger also lives in a huge enclosure but that is not as much massive as compared to the enclosure of Brutus the liger. All the enclosures are verified and passed by USDA authorities and there is a regular inspection at the zoo after regular intervals to maintain the safety and security of the animals and visitors visiting the zoo. Both the ligers enjoy their life at the animal sanctuary as they are given best quality food and also a very advanced medical assistance as well.
