Previously this liger zoo had 2 ligers to display. The name of these ligers was Rapido the liger and Chris the liger. Both of these ligers were male ligers. However; currently this liger has only one liger to display and the name of that liger is Chris. Rapido the liger which was the bigger of the two male ligers is believed to be dead. Rapido the liger was believed to be around 850 to 900 pounds. Chris the liger which is still alive weighs around 800 pounds in weight. Both of these ligers were born during the year 2006, and currently Chris the liger is around 8 years old.

Everland Zoo in Korea has a huge history regarding ligers and other animals. Everland Zoo was the first ever Asian Zoo to introduce liger for public viewing from at least last 200 years. First liger cub at this Everland Zoo was born during the year 1997. Therefore; ligers are part of this zoo from at least last 2 decades. This event was reported by several international news agencies such as BBC and CNN at that time. During 2006, two more ligers were born at this zoo, and that birth of the ligers, also gained a huge publicity at that time as well. There have been rumors of the white ligers’ birth at the Everland, but such sources are not authentic enough to consider and also there isn’t any available evidence of the white ligers in South Korea.
